Scan Services

Our scan service: We take over for you scanning your maps on our large format scanner, scan width / sheet width maximum 100 cm.

For licence-juridical reasons it is not possible with most maps to sell Scans of maps. However, it’s allow to scan maps only for the private use of your acquired maps.

We deliver the mapscans as desired in 150-200dpi, 256 colours to you. Format *.png, *.tif, *.bmp or *.gif. Resolution from more than 200dpi is also possible for it against surcharge. Nevertheless, this is superfluous for navigation purposes according to our opinion. Do not forget please, the file size of a map states nothing about the actual memory consumption of your computer with the loading of this map. You can assume from the fact that a map corresponds in the format German Institute for Standardization A0 with 200 DPI scanned, diminished on 256 colours, about 10,000 x 7,000 pixels. This means about one memory consumption of 67 mb, all the same which size has the accompanying file. The same map, saved as *.jpg, has maybe only 20-30MB as a file, however, uses after the loading in TTQV approx. 200 mb of system memory!

We scan the maps not to receive colour-faithful Scans in repro-graphic senses, but for the use as a navigation accessory in GPS software. For this reason light corruptions are absolutely possible in colour, brightness, contrast and are also not corrected by us within the scope of the scan order.

If you liked to have scanned map, demand please the form "scan order" exclusively under that e-mail adress service@ttqv.com with us in. Exactly peruse the form please, fill it, sign it and send it to us together with the accordingly prepared maps. You find the necessary dispatch address for the maps on the scan form. Clarify the appointments for your scan order absolutely before sending of the maps by e-mail with us. We can keep only from ourselves promised terms.

A calibration of the map for the use with TT QV is accounted after time involved. If on a map all necessary requirements for a calibration available (see below), then the calibration costs the quoted standard price in the table. All maps with which these requirements are not fulfilled can be calibrated only after actual time involved.

Requirements for a standard calibration

  • about the whole sheet pulled through and unambiguously with lat/lon values marked grid lines, or
  • about the whole sheet pulled through and unambiguously with values UTM marked grid lines, and
  • entries about projection and map date, and
  • the map sheet itself has a regular square form and is not interrupted by insertions and legends

You have request understanding for the fact that we can take over no guarantee for the fact that the calibration is right. We have no influence on whether the map sheet is a correct picture in itself or the grids were put on by the map manufacturer correctly on the card.
